Appointment's Post II



This post is for threading with Shikamaru anytime and anywhere. It can be used for action tags or the ping feature on journals (voice or written) to get in contact with him for personal conversations. Ikki's birthday is coming up so she's excited. It's just the usual with Chien. [ Calm, parental smile. ] My seamstress business has slowed down since the strike, but I have enough textiles to keep myself going.

[His head jerks back slightly, taken aback and even momentarily stunned into silence. He'd been joking, a moment before. Life working at the factory has been no cake walk. As one of the few who didn't go on strike, Shikamaru's more used to fists and rotten tomatoes being thrown at him than he is gratitude.

It's very moving.

Aa... It's not just me, there's the rest of the guys. [He regains his composure after another moment, raising his head to brush sheepishly at the back of his head.] But I'm tickled to hear you're doing well.

[ Tenten's eyes close. Her lips part in a gentle but understanding force. ]

Shikamaru. You were the one that let me know how the factory was going. Even if you didn't mean it, you saved our family. Which is why, no matter what happens because you crossed the picketline, I know everything you do is for helping out the other people. Sometimes the most noble acts are the ones that go without notice. The only way people would be able to fight this oppressive regime is with an invisible hero, kinda like what you did back then.

I'm no hero. Those guys on strike... much as I wanna sock them in the mouth, what they're doing's important too.

[More important, probably. They're trying to make the worker's lives better. Get equal treatment.

He's just a scab, trying to support his wife and mother.]

I wasn't insulting them, Shikamaru. I know what they do in their work is important and praise-worthy too. I'm just stating that everyone in this situation isn't exactly at fault, except for probably the big guy upstairs. [ Not God. The Mayor. But it's kinda close enough. ]

Oh, that's fine. [He's not a big tea drinker himself, to say the least. Coffee is faster. (though before this he wasn't a coffee drinker either...)] I'd drink mud at this point. It's hot enough out there.

I'm sorry, Shikamaru, but Naruto, here, uses so much sugar that this is usually the most anyone else gets. [ gdi. ]

Point. Chien and Ikki already have enough energy as it is. I'd shutter to think what would happen if they were on a sugar high. [ Besides an apocalypse, no other option seems likely. ] Still, having Naruto binge on sugar isn't a good option.
